Pelvic pain might be referred from the back and viceversa. It is also common for women to have pelvic and pubic pain during and following pregnancy.
Physiotherapy treatment aims at maintaining a stable, pain free pelvis, and includes retraining:
- muscles of the pelvic floor
- muscles of the deep abdominal wall
- postural spinal muscles
- gluteal muscles
Other types of pelvic pain are also treated by physiotherapists.
